HD - R/T-M Marine Grade Aluminum and Stainless Steel 12/24/48 Volt DC Rooftop Air Conditioners

Cruise N Comfort USA HD R/T-M — TAA-Compliant Marine Rooftop Air Conditioner

Over the last few years, we’ve received numerous requests from marine contractors and builders outfitting patrol boats, workboats, and offshore vessels. Their needs were clear: they required a TAA-compliant rooftop air conditioner designed for saltwater environments—not an imported plastic unit that can’t be serviced or supported locally. They needed serviceability, parts availability, and real support from people who understand the product and can answer a call when a critical system goes down.

Our focus in developing the HD R/T-M was long-term reliability in the harshest marine environments. We built it to handle continuous operation, vibration, humidity, and salt exposure, using the same proven core components found in our MES and MES Series split systems. We refused to compromise on quality by cutting costs or using lightweight import components. Instead, every HD R/T-M features all-metal construction with either a marine-grade stainless-steel housing or a lightweight, powder-coated aluminum finish for weight-sensitive applications.

For specialized or custom projects, we can apply salt-resistant coatings, offer specific finish colors, or even integrate customer logos directly into the rooftop cover—whether the unit is stainless or aluminum. These finish and branding options are available on qualifying quantities for fleet, military, or OEM orders, ensuring each project meets its exact performance and appearance requirements.

At the heart of the HD R/T-M is our proven variable-speed DC rotary compressor, providing exceptional energy efficiency, quiet operation, and extreme durability under continuous-duty conditions. The system is built with IP68-rated fans and blowers, Deutsch-style sealed connectors, and conformally coated control and electronics boards for maximum resistance to moisture, vibration, and corrosion. The dual-core condenser utilizes high-CFM marine-grade fans and a fully ventilated baseplate that allows the condenser to breathe efficiently—whether the cover is light or dark in color. Heavy-duty crossbars and inserts provide secure mounting points, while the large ⅜-inch power terminals simplify installation and ensure reliable electrical connections. The evaporator coil features a copper core with Bluefin coating, providing long-term corrosion resistance against salt, humidity, and marine conditions.

For advanced installations, the system pairs with our DT-05 WiFi-enabled thermostat or the CNC-I-M analog interface, designed to integrate with digital switching systems such as Garmin®, CZone®, and others. These options allow precise, flexible control whether the installation requires network integration or remote WiFi access. The DT-05 also supports wired temperature sensors to maintain stable conditions in separate compartments—ideal for enclosed helm stations, crew quarters, or electronics rooms.

Because the HD R/T-M shares its compressor, electronics, and core parts with our MES and MES Series split systems, replacement parts are always available and can typically be shipped within days. Every major component is sourced from as many U.S. and local Arizona companies as possible, giving us close control over quality, consistency, and long-term availability while remaining fully TAA-compliant.

The unit mounts through a standard 14″ × 14″ opening, fitting most cabin roofs and pilothouse structures. Despite its robust marine-grade construction, it remains compact and low-profile for minimal drag and a clean professional appearance. Like all Cruise N Comfort air-conditioning systems, the HD R/T-M can be fully serviced in place—simply remove the cover for immediate access to plug-and-play electronics and major components without needing to unbolt or remove the unit.

Unlike imported units that must be shipped on pallets via freight, our rooftop systems ship via FedEx Ground, making delivery and replacement quick, simple, and cost-effective.

At Cruise N Comfort USA, we build air conditioners that are not disposable—they’re engineered for long-term serviceability, minimizing downtime and waste while delivering dependable performance day after day. If your vessel operates in extreme heat, salt, or heavy-duty environments, the HD R/T-M delivers the rugged reliability, configurability, and support your mission demands.

Don’t shortchange your project with imported, disposable equipment—build it right the first time with a system designed to last.
